What is it about some athletes/celebrities that make you want to punch them right in the face?
You know what I’m talking about…And I don’t mean the guys that you know something about personally and think are jerks. I am not really even talking about guys like Bonds, A-Rod, T.O. or Favre (though some people on my list could fall into this category), guys who get a lot of coverage one way or the other and as a result your fist is eager for contact with their face. I am talking about the guys you want to punch in the face for no apparent reason. You don’t know anything about them except that they need one in the kisser.
For example, Sasha Vujacic. Something about him makes me want to smack him and most people I talk with tend to agree. For all we know he could be the finest gentleman to ever come out of Yugoslavia but that doesn’t stop our inherent urge for violence.
Other guys on my list: Jack Nicholson (for that smirk he always does and for the fact that he plays Jack Nicholson in every movie), Joe Buck (is it the smug-factor?), Bono (ubiquitously annoying and pretentious), Sean Penn (look at me, I’m acting), Jim Jones (just seems like a hyped up bum) and Dane Cook (please don’t ask why).
What I am trying to figure out is what quality makes me want to punch them in the face and one word that could describe it. Is it as simple as irksome? Perhaps some of you want to punch me in the face for writing about this or perhaps you have a list of your own. Either way I’ll have my dukes up.
