Is everyone gay? That is what I find myself wondering.
Now I don’t mean literally homosexual and I know I have qualify all of this…I have no problem with how people choose to live their personal lives and I even have a few homosexual friends (or at least associates)…Ok, now that that is out of the way; the issue is that I see things like that picture, young adults on the train (some of the “cool” kids look just like the pic), Dwyane Wade’s outfits at the All Star game and the whole skinny jeans fad and I wonder what the hell is going on. When did looking metro but quickly approaching homosexual become the norm for heterosexual males?
Shouldn’t we leave that unique style to actual homosexual people? I can imagine them getting pissed off because their whole style got swagger-jacked + they don’t know who is gay and who isn’t. Imagine how difficult that must be. And the whole skinny jeans thing? Unlike Jay-Z I don’t avoid them because my knots are too thick (he likely makes more in 60 seconds than I do in six months), I avoid them because my balls haven’t shriveled up and retracted into my stomach. And why do other people let them hang below their underwear? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose? Can’t we find a happy medium between old-school baggy jeans and modern-day skinny jeans; I don’t know like normal looking, crisp jeans?
I realize this is probably the first step in my aging and losing touch with the younger generation but I just don’t really get it and am kind of perplexed by the whole thing, though I always did think it fit certain people (Andre 3000).
I guess I should just give in *Stops writing–runs to store and purchases bright yellow shoes, tight gray pants, some weird indescribable jacket, a fluorescent green scarf and funny-rimmed glasses w/ no lenses.*
Whew, I feel much better now.
