twitterThe word tweet is a bit annoying to me. When I was younger this librarian at my elementary school used to always say “Rockin’ Robin, Tweet, Tweet, Tweet.” That is even more irritating to hear than it is to read. I really wanted to slam her face into the card catalog.

Anyway, the word tweet has re-emerged in my lexicon thanks to twitter, which now has 7 million users. What do I think about it? Honestly, I am not really sure. It seems kind of stupid and arrogant. Sort of like having a website with your name followed by dot me.

So naturally, I signed up for a twitter account. The problem is that I am not sure what to do with it. I mean once I have reached a certain level it will be much easier to just tweet something like “Come bask in my awesomeness as I am currently at the Museum of Natural History.” But what about now? Do I tweet “clipping my toe nails”, “crying myself to sleep” or “writing a hilarious blog”? I am not sure.

The biggest problem I have though is that I don’t want to follow anyone. I simply do not care. I don’t care if you had a bad day, I don’t care if you are walking your dog, I don’t care if you found a great sale, I don’t care if you were nominated for Secretary of State. I just don’t care.

So to anyone I am following please know that I am only doing so to be polite. I am a leader, not a follower.
