Anyone who knows me knows that I have a rather large man-crush on LeBron James. I do not deny this and my response is generally “I chose well with that one.” I certainly did. LeBron just might be the most gifted athlete I have ever seen. I am pretty sure he was born in a laboratory.
The argument I tend to have with people nowadays is where LeBron should be drafted if he were to decide to play in the NFL. I think people are crazy if they don’t say first overall. I know I have never seen him play football (he was an all-state wideout in high school) but I have seen enough to know he would excel in the NFL, and probably at multiple positions. With his size, 6′9 270ish, you don’t think he could play middle linebacker or even defensive end? He weighs more than Ray Lewis and about the same as Justin Tuck. But what really boggles my mind is when people say he isn’t a sure bet at receiver or tight-end. Oh really?
He is huge, strong, fast (ran a 4.4, 40 in high school) and jumps higher than any human being in history (look it up). And since I have seen him snare one-handed alley-oops behind his head, I am fairly sure he can catch. How would any corner stop him on a jump ball? And who the hell would want to tackle him in the open field? That is like seeing a faster T.O.+ 50 lbs. heading your way. In a sport that is based mainly on raw athletic ability he would dominate.
With the number one overall pick in his dreams…Robin Lundberg selects…LeBron James!
