The return of Vince Young edition (5-8 last week; 53-49 on the season)…

Chicago (-13) over Cleveland: The Browns simply cannot score. The Bears better cover this one.

Denver (+3) over Baltimore: I believe the Broncos are undefeated against the spread to go with their 6-0 record. I will pick with them until they give me a reason not to. Their defense looks like the real deal.

Houston (-3.5) over Buffalo: I am finally (mildly) on the Texans’ bandwagon. They simply have more talent than Buffalo. If they don’t cover or lose, I hate them.

Miami (+3.5) over New York Jets: The Wildcat and the Fins gorged the Jets for over 150 yards rushing in their first meeting. This time the Jets don’t have Kris Jenkins to stuff the middle.

New York Giants (-1) over Philadelphia: The Eagles frustrate me. They are explosive but inconsistent. They can score in bunches but have trouble sustaining drives. Chris Canty and Michael Boley could be back for the G-Men and Brian Westbrook is likely out for philly. I’ll take the Giants by a field goal.

Indianapolis (-13) over San Francisco: The 49ers have surrendered 27 points to the Vikings, 45 to the Falcons and 24 to the Texans in three of the last four weeks. This probably means the Colts go for more than 30.

Dallas (-10) over Seattle: Nothing about the Seahawks makes me want to pick them. Not even the patented Hasselbeck balding hairdo (his brother looks like the Gollum version of Matt with the exact same hair).

St. Louis (Even) over Detroit: This pick depends on Calvin Johnson’s health (and Matt Stafford’s to a lesser degree). I really like Steven Jackson against the Lions’ defense.

San Diego (-16.5) over Oakland: It would take a mighty big spread for me to pick the Raiders. This is not quite big enough. The Chargers have scored at least 20 points in every game. They will score more than that this week. LaDainian Tomlinson will have a big day too (but don’t take that of a sign of things to come, he is mostly finished).

Green Bay (-3) over Minnesota: Brett Favre tosses some fun balls in his return to the cold of Lambeau. Aaron Rodgers tears up a banged up Vikings’ secondary. The Vikes get gunslung.

Tennessee (-3) push/over Jacksonville: I will roll with V.Y. in his return. Titans by 3.

Arizona (-11) over Carolina: The Cardinals have convinced me. So have the Panthers (that they are putrid). Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald and Beanie Wells will ball out of control.

Atlanta (+10) over New Orleans: I’m not saying they’ll win but the Falcons can score on the Saints and 10 points is just too much for an inter-division game.
