Chad Ochocinco is the most entertaining personality in football. It is not close. The NFL should be fined for fining him. I think charging Roger Goodell $200,000 for prudishness is about right. Fine Ochocinco? Child please.
Here is a guy that makes the week leading up to games entertaining. The latest example is his tweets and trash talk toward all world cornerback Darrelle Revis. “Darrelle Revis couldn’t cover me in a brown paper bag on the corner of a Manhattan street inside a phone booth,” basically sums it up. The casual fan now has a reason to watch Jets-Bengals on Sunday Night Football.
Jets fans were already going to watch because their team is fighting for a playoff spot. For others, what was the appeal? It should be a solid game featuring two good defenses and running games. But is that enough to get you excited, particularly when one team has nothing to play for and the other isn’t a real contender? Now the game is bordering on must watch television. I know I’ll be interested to see if Revis can shut down Chad like he has every other elite receiver this year. Plus, what will Chad’s celebration be if he is able to get in the end zone? I’ve heard something about him stealing Fireman Ed’s helmet (if you don’t know who Fireman Ed is, good for you).
The thing about Ochocinco is that he can be entertaining without stepping foot on the field. The OCNN (Ocho Cinco News Network) banner along the side of his Twitter page should be enough to get you to sign up (to go with the overall awesomeness of Twitter). And once you do follow him, you get to see some of the cool stuff he does on a regular basis. Like telling fans what movie and what theater he will be going to and then treating them to tickets and snacks. He is that dude.
And I haven’t even mentioned that he legally changed his name from Chad Johnson to Chad Ochocinco. Alright, I’ve said enough. I’m off to OCNN for fair and balanced coverage.
