Chick-fil-A

I was out of the city for the last few days (Raleigh, North Carolina to be exact) and the trip reminded me of one of life’s greatest truisms…Chick-fil-A is frickin’ delicious. There are two things I miss living in New York (other than space to move and breathe): Driving and the aforementioned fast food chicken place.

I got to do the first one as I headed down 95-S. And then I noticed the second one, a lot. There are tons of Chick-fil-A’s as you get south of the tri-state area. In fact, it is one of the most noticeable things about heading down that way. (The other being how the general population’s girth seems to expand exponentially the farther you get from the city. I was once inside a remarkably cold suburban Applebee’s and couldn’t help but see that no one else was freezing. Then I realized why. They were all fat. I’m not trying to be mean, just making an observation. I observed myself amongst a herd of pachyderms.)

I could hardly contain my giddiness upon seeing a plethora of Chick-fil-A’s. You see, they make the greatest chicken sandwich in the world and it is cheap and not particularly unhealthy (they even have whole wheat buns). My only two complaints about the franchise are that there aren’t any in New York (Why!?!?!?!?!? It would certainly make a killing) and that they close on Sunday. (Nothing is more disappointing than thinking you are going to eat Chick-fil-A for the first time in forever and then realizing it is Sunday. I instinctually scream ‘Goddammit’ internally whenever this occurs.)

In summation, if anyone affiliated with Chick-fil-A is reading this, please open a store in Manhattan. Actually, please open one in my apartment. And for the love of God, don’t close it on Sunday.

  1. Rudy says:

That really stinks for all people of New York City, the biggest market in the world is without one of the best fast food restaurants. Even my hometown in New Mexico has Chick-fil-a; why can’t New York have one? CNBC says the reason that chick-fil-a closes on Sunday is because The owner of the company is religious and doesn’t want his workers, working on Sunday.
