Heat Wave

I’ve never claimed to have sources. I’ve just been going with what I honestly believed and how I’ve interpreted the events. I hope I’m right. I’m scared I’m wrong. How could I not be? This is torture.

Three things scare me about the Miami Heat reports. 1. The rumor that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh made a pact to play togther at the Olympics. 2. Pat Riley. 3. A Daily News article last week quoting a 2nd-tier free agent who said LeBron asked him if he’d be willing to take less money to join the “Dream Team”.

Several things also keep my hopes up. A quote from the New York Post today saying that someone from the James camp said “You guys should be writing about the Miami Heat.” That sounds like a ploy and a smokescreen. Another thing is that “sources” have been wrong throughout this process. Finally, it just doesn’t make sense for his brand or his legacy. It will be tough for him to be considered the best ever going to Wade’s team. And you know Nike doesn’t want him going to the 44th market in the country. A market that is apathetic about its sports.

I also think it’s a bad decision for the NBA. If those three unite in Miami, there’s only a few teams to care about. The regular season becomes moot and many people who were enthralled by this saga will be turned off by the result.

I’m batting 1.000 on free agent predictions thus far. I really hope this isn’t the one I got wrong.

If Lebron goes to Miami he will never be in the same class as Kobe and certainly not MJ. It would be a bad career move, I think he’d be better off in Cleveland and if he wants to win a title immediately the best place to do that at the moment is Chicago, they having a complete team not just 3 guys. Also in this whole process Bosh has been extremely overrated, hes not that great and certainly not a superstar, I call him a richer blacker David Lee. Toronto has avg. someting like 39 wins with Bosh…Heats dream team vs the lakers in a 7 game series: Lakers in 6

lol james going to miami if that acually happens the yankees fans will get a taste of there own medicine …just saying

  3. Dan says:

well yankees and knicks fans alot of front runners will jump on the heat band wagon (i really really really really dislike front runners)

  4. Don says:

I wouldn’t throw in the towel jsut yet. Chris Broussard is running away from that story faster than Usain Bolt ran away from the starting line in Bejing. Wouldn’t be surprised if ESPN takes it down by lunch.

And on three side notes ….. I’m not sure as many people are as “enthralled as you think, 2) I didn’t think so at first but Lebron’s brand is now under attack on at least two fronts 3) there is NO doubt that johnny come lately Heat phonies will surge past Yankee fans into the lead for “easiest to root against in pro sports.”

  6. jason says:
