Happy Football Day! Football! Football! Football! (I just wanted to make sure I met my quota for the use of the word football.)
Now is the official time to get excited about the return of football (Football!). It is also the logical time to make predictions about the upcoming NFL season (Football!). For whatever reason we all enjoy taking this opportunity to make ourselves look like idiots. My turn…
–Brett Favre will look more like the Brett Favre of the last half decade than the Brett Favre of last season (Football!)
–Tom Brady will get his swagger back (Football!)
–Bill Belichick will scowl (Football!)
–Terrell Owens will prove he is still an elite player (Football!)
–Vince Young will continue to build on his stellar 26-13 record as a starter (Football!)
–The Rams, Bucs, Lions, Browns, Seahawks and Bills will be terrible (Football!)
–CJ Spiller will be the offensive rookie of the year (Football!)
–At least one player will signal for a first down with his arm after gaining first down yardage (Football!)
–The trendy Packers will not make the Super Bowl. They gave up 52 points when last seen (Football!)
–Donovan McNabb will be worth four wins to the Redskins (Football!)
–Andy Reid will nibble on his clipboard (Football!)
–Only one team will make the playoffs from the NFC and AFC West (Football!)
–The Chargers, Colts, Titans, Ravens, Patriots and Dolphins will make the playoffs in the AFC. The 49ers, Saints, Packers, Bears, Giants and Cowboys will make the playoffs in the NFC.
–My Super Bowl pick will undoubtedly be incorrect (Football!)
–The Giants and Patriots will play in the Super Bowl (Football!)
–My Super Bowl pick will undoubtedly be incorrect (Football!)
–So will almost everyone else’s (Football!)
–I’ll take New Orleans to cover the five points tonight (Football!)
Do I have any confidence in my predictions? I’ll answer that by quoting Brandon Jacobs’ response to a question from a reporter yesterday…”You think I’m stupid, aren’t you?”

woah giants and patriots, ive said since patriots lost to the giants in the super bowl a few years ago that the giants knocked the luster out of the patriots, but ill still take patriots to win there division. the only thing you left out is that tim tebow is going to prove alot of his haters wrong this season (if there are any left). I was one of the two people that though that the broncs did a good job in drafting him even if they did over pay for him
So you’re saying the gunslinger Brett Farve won’t have fun this season? How will the TFAGS deal react to this?
In an unrelated note, I always loved the TFAG stuff. It was hilarious. I remember somebody sending hate mail one day and it was that Max was an Atypical Football Analyst Guy. Mecha-Lundberg was awesome too. I miss that show.
