*Update: The Titans are a great fit. It’s tough to focus any one of Chris Johnson, Vince Young or Randy Moss when the opposing team has all three. As long as they have somebody to run in the slot across the middle they’re going to be a difficult matchup.*

A rolling stone gathers no moss. Randy Moss is now officially a vagabond. His case is starting to become eerily reminiscent of Allen Iverson’s. But while Iverson’s saga ended the wrong way, in Turkey, I hope Moss’ ends in the only way it should…in New England.

It’s pretty clear to me what happened in Minnesota. Brad Childress already felt like his authority was undermined by Brett Favre. But he couldn’t do anything about it. Favre is too much of an NFL deity. So when he heard Randy Moss praise Bill Belichick following the Vikings loss to the Patriots, he took it as another shot at him. Therefore he did to Moss what he couldn’t do to Favre. And it will probably be the last straw in costing him his job. At this point he and Favre are in a war of attrition to see who will last longer in Minnesota.

Meanwhile, Moss’ case is simply one of ‘you don’t know what you got til it’s gone’. His reaction reminded me of a child who got in trouble with his parents and wants to make sure they still love him. I think he realizes he messed up a good thing in New England. I guarantee he’d be on his best behavior if the Patriots were to welcome him back. And they should.

It would only add to the legend of Bill Belichick. He’s already won Super Bowls, discovered Tom Brady and cheated only to see the NFL destroy the evidence. Now he can add trading Randy Moss for a third round pick and then getting a motivated Moss back for nothing to the list. It likely won’t happen but it should.

Besides, Randy Moss shouldn’t wind up playing in Turkey.

(There is a part of me that’s happy to see guys like that get their comeuppance.)

Tiger Woods’ romps are not the only thing going on in the world (good job with the voicemail; nice work). Here are a few other items I think deserve mention…

–Allen Iverson will return to Philadelphia. I am a big fan of this news. It is almost perfect. A.I. will get a chance to prove he can still play while fulfilling his desire to remain the top dog. And let’s be honest, no one was interested in the 76ers until now. They need to give him the ball and tell him to go. Philadelphia is built to run and A.I. to A.I. (Andre Iguodala) and the rest of the 76ers will form an interesting and competitive (playoff level) team. They are not a real threat but at least he has one last opportunity to salvage part of his basketball reputation.

–Ron Artest admitted he used to drink at halftime of games. So? Don’t get me wrong, drinking during games is bad (unless you are in the park; some of the guys there reek of booze). But this is Ron Artest. Is there anything he could say that would surprise you? This is the same guy who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel in his boxers, who recorded the oddest tribute song I have ever heard (to Michael Jackson), who applied for a job at Circuit City to get the employee discount (listing Bulls’ owner Jerry Krause as a reference) and who has eyes that are clearly not exactly in tune with his brain. He could say, ‘I gave birth to Godzilla’ and I wouldn’t be shocked. Consider the source.

–Floyd Mayweather has agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao. It looks like it could happen March 13 and it might take place in a football arena, maybe even the new Cowboys Stadium. This will be the biggest boxing event in more than 10 years and I am fairly giddy about it. The next question is, who wins? Every time I see Pac-Man fight lately I am more impressed. He is fast, his delivery is awkward and he has the “Fist of the North Star.” However, I’m still taking Floyd. I have never seen him beaten and I will take his size, skill and technique over Pac’s physical skills until I see otherwise. Manny will play the hero, Floyd the villain. I think the bad guy wins this one.

–The first poster from “Iron Man 2″ (featuring War Machine) is online. It is awesome.
